Two arrests made following armed robbery

The South Simcoe Police Service Street Crime Unit has made two more arrests following an armed robbery that occurred on Sept. 11, 2018 in the area of Sideroad 10 and County Road 88.

Further search warrants were executed this week in York and Bradford and as a result, a 22-year-old East Gwillimbury man and a 26-year-old Bradford man are facing numerous charges.

The 22-year-old man is charged with:

  • robbery with a weapon
  • fail to comply undertaking
  • possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • conspiracy to commit indictable offence
The 26-year-old man is charged with:
  • robbery with a weapon (2 counts)
  • possession of a controlled substance
  • possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • conspiracy to commit indictable offence

An 18-year-old Bradford man and a 17-year-old Bradford youth were previously charged in connection with the robbery after search warrants were executed last week.

Street Crime Unit officers worked diligently on this case which resulted in four arrests. This specialized unit within South Simcoe Police Service has proven time and again how invaluable it is in keeping our communities safe.
