INNISFIL - On Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020 around 7:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a shoplifting call from security at the Tanger Outlet Mall located on County Road 89 in Cookstown. Police were advised that two suspects had entered multiple stores, selected merchandise and left without paying. Police arrived on scene and the suspects were arrested as they were driving away from the mall.
Thirty-two-year-old Devin Ellison of Pickering and 51-year-old Andrea Watson of Ajax are both charged with theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, and conspiracy to commit indictable offence. The accused were released from custody with a future court date. Police recovered a quantity of stolen property that included clothes, shoes and fragrances.
