A collision Tuesday in Innisfil has resulted in impaired driving charges against a Georgetown man.

South Simcoe police responded shortly after 11 a.m. to a two-vehicle collision in the area of Highway 400 and Innisfil Beach Road. Police say the suspect exchanged information with the victim and left the scene before officers arrived.

No one was hurt in the crash.

Police were then told the suspect vehicle was being driven erratically on 10 Sideroad, and then eastbound on 11th Line. Police located the vehicle and arrested the driver.

The 56-year-old man has been charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired (excess blood-alcohol). His licence is being suspended for 90 days and his vehicle is being impounded for seven days.
