INNISFIL -  A 24-year-old Innisfil woman is charged with drug-impaired driving after a vehicle lost control, mounted a curb and wound up on the grass shoulder in Alcona.

A South Simcoe Police Service officer arrived on scene on Innisfil Beach Rd. and Webster Blvd. around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.

When the officer asked for the woman's driver's licence, she handed over an Esso Extra points card. After a second request for her licence, the woman produced a CIBC bank card. As a result of their interactions, the officer formed the grounds that the woman's ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired.

She was placed under arrest and although she had no visible physical injuries, she was transported to hospital due to her disoriented state. A Drug Recognition Expert attended, conducted an evaluation which resulted in the woman being charged with drug impairment. She was released on a promise to appear in court. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for seven days.
