VIDEO: Suspects flee when police arrive at break-in

Three were arrested, and at least 11 others are wanted after a break and enter at a commercial warehouse in Richmond Hill early Monday, York Regional Police say

Three men have been arrested and at least 11 other suspects are wanted following a commercial break and enter in Richmond Hill.

Police responded to a commercial warehouse near Leslie Street and Major Mackenzie Drive East Monday, April 1 at about 4:30 a.m., where as many as 10 suspects were breaking in with hammers and electric saws, according to a York Regional Police news release.

When officers arrived, two suspects were immediately arrested, while a number of other suspects fled, police said.

The canine unit was engaged and a third suspect was taken into custody a short time later.

Charged are Sandu-Daniel Nae, 48, and Razvan-Nicolae Gheorghe, 35, both of Markham, and Romeo Lache, 35, of Toronto.

  • Participation in criminal organization
  • Commission of offence for criminal organization
  • Break and enter with intent
  • Disguise with intent
  • Possession of break-in instruments
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 x2
  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offence

Investigators are now looking for as many as 11 additional suspects, aged 20 to 50 years old, police. The suspects are known to travel in groups and are believed to be Eastern European.
