UPDATE: Vulnerable missing Georgina man safely located

UPDATE, Jan. 20, 6:50 p.m.: York Regional Police reports the missing person has been found safe and in good health. The force thanks the public and public safety partners for their assistance.

Investigators with the York Regional Police #3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking public assistance in locating a missing 52-year-old vulnerable man from the Town of Georgina.

Nicola Fantini, was last seen on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, around 8 p.m., at a residence located on Lake Drive East.

Investigators learned that on Wednesday, Jan. 19, around 4 p.m., Fantini attended a location in the area of 5800 Yonge St. in Toronto but has since left.

He is familiar with public transportation and is known to frequent Toronto and seek shelters within the city.

Fantini has not returned and police have not been able to locate him. Investigators and his family are concerned for his well-being and are asking anyone with information to contact police.

He is described as:

  • 52 years
  • 5’11”, 140 lbs. slender build
  • Short, dark hair
  • Light complexion
  • Dark beard
  • Last seen wearing light blue hospital pants, a light grey-and-blue sweatshirt, with a lightening bolt on the front
