INNISFIL - A 32-year-old Innisfil man is facing numerous charges including impaired driving following a fail to remain collision in York Region.

On Tuesday, July 3, 2018 around 2:30 p.m., York Regional Police received a report of a three-vehicle collision in the Yonge Street and Bathurst Street area.

A child and an adult were transported to hospital for treatment.

The accused fled the scene of the collision and a witness who contacted York Regional Police followed the vehicle.

South Simcoe Police Service was notified by York Regional Police as the fleeing vehicle entered the SSPS jurisdiction.

A number of witnesses then called to report a vehicle driving erratically.

The accused was arrested at his home in Innisfil. Officers detected the smell of alcohol and issued a breath demand.

The man was transported to North Division where further testing resulted in readings of over 80.

The man was charged with impaired care or control, over 80 mgs, fail to remain at the scene of an accident, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and fail to comply with recognizance.
