Woman looking for driver involved in Queensville Sideroad crash

'I'm hoping the driver will come forward,' says victim of car accident

Bradford woman Sarah Salisbury is seeking the public's help in identifying a vehicle that was involved in a car crash that sent her to hospital over the weekend in East Gwillimbury.

Salisbury was driving home from Georgina early Sunday morning at 1:23 a.m. when she was struck by a pickup truck on Queensville Sideroad from behind and pushed into another vehicle that was travelling in the opposite lane.

"I almost died!" she cried. "I held that wheel for my life."

According to police, the truck went into the ditch, reversed and travelled west on Queensville Sideroad towards Bathurst Street. The truck is believed to have front-end damage. Emergency crews attended the scene and the road was closed for investigation.

Salisbury was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

When BradfordToday visited Salisbury's home on Tuesday for a follow up, she had bruises on her arms and hands and appeared to be in physical pain.

"I’m sore in bed on morphine, my head kills and my stomach," she said.

To make matters worse, back in June, Salisbruy was involved in another motor vehicle collision while her son was driving, in which she sustained serious injuries including a functional neurological disorder.

Over the summer, she has been rehabilitating herself slowly, going regularly to her doctor and specialist appointments, and trying to rebuild her life, but now she says, her progress has been set  back even further.

Over the past few days, she has been pleading with the public on social media to come forward with any information they may have about the crash.

"I just want closure...I’m hoping the driver will come forward out of fear or remorse or somebody sees the truck or knows the person that has the truck," she said.

Anyone with information on the incident can contact York Regional Police at 1 (866) 876-5423.
