Woman parks in wrong driveway, charged with impaired driving

Driver could not provide an explanation for why she had parked her vehicle at the complainant’s home, police say

On the 20th of May 2023 at 7:17 a.m., South Simcoe Police received a call from a concerned resident stating that an unknown vehicle was parked in their driveway.

Once on scene, police spoke with the 39-year-old female driver. The driver could not provide an explanation for why she had parked her vehicle at the complainant’s home. Police determined the driver was impaired and she was subsequently arrested.  

The female was returned to the station for the purpose of breath testing. As a result of the investigating the 39-year-old Barrie resident was charged with:
    •    Impaired operation - alcohol and drugs s.320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code
    •    Impaired operation - blood alcohol concentration s.320(1)(b) Criminal Code

Her vehicle was impounded for seven days and her licence suspended for 90 days under the Province of Ontario’s administrative drivers licence suspension program. The female party will appear in Bradford court in June.
