On All Hallow’s Eve, October 30, plan on joining others in the community at the second annual Bradford Spookfest, at the Portuguese Cultural Centre in Bradford.

The brainchild of local business owner Kim Harvey, the Bradford Spookfest aims to appeal to all ages, with fun and vendors for everyone.

My Lil Gem’s owner Harvey explained, “We will have free admission, but will be collecting donations for the Bradford Food Bank. There will be lots of outside vendors in the parking lot, along with trick or treating for the kids. Inside, Scaraoke Entertainment will be running a dance and My Lil Gem will be running a costume contest for everyone to enter.”

Outside, there will also be food trucks, inflatables, and arcade games. “There will be something for everyone,” Harvey continued. “There will be an artisan market and night market, featuring local businesses including My Lil Gem, Avon, Ginny Fleece, Big Z’s Food Truck, Pizza Twenty-two, and lots more.”

Local business Magical Events will run the arcade games and provide popcorn and cotton candy as well.

“We still have room for more vendors, if any local businesses would like to come and join in,” said Harvey. “The vendor fee is only $40 and it’s set up tailgate style, so you have room for your truck or van or car and a 10 x 10 tent out front of your vehicle. The event runs 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and it is rain or shine,” she concluded.

Harvey said, “The dance will be a spooky, Hallowe’en-themed dance. Scaraoke Entertainment excels at this kind of thing, it’s going to be really fun and entertaining for everyone. And of course, the costume contest will be amazing. We have some great prizes for that as well.”

Bradford Spookfest is happening on October 30 from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Portuguese Cultural Centre at 767 Simcoe Road in Bradford.
