Notice of Public Meeting for a Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury will be holding a public meeting on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 7:00 pm in the Zima Room of the BWG Library & Cultural Centre, 425 Holland Street West, Bradford to consider the proposed amendment to Zoning By-law 2010-050, as amended. 

The Council meeting will also be streamed live on the Town’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/c/TownofBradfordWestGwillimbury. Please note that there may be more than one public meeting and that the matter will be dealt with in the order that it appears on the agenda.

The purpose and effect of the proposed amendment is to rezone the subject property from the "Core Commercial (C1)" Zone into two (2) Zones; the first being the "Core Commercial Exception Holding (C1*XX(H1))" Zone, and the second the "Institutional Exception Holding (I*XX(H1))" Zone.  The proposed Zoning By-law Amendment would permit an eight (8) storey mixed use building with ground floor commercial uses and 112 residential apartments and an eight (8) storey 98 unit residential retirement building. Vehicular access for both buildings would be from Holland Court and parking would be located at grade and underground. A key map showing the location of the lands is set out below.

The purpose of the meeting is to inform the public of the nature of the proposal, invite public input, and answer questions regarding the application.

 

Any person may attend the public meeting to make a submission in support of or in opposition to the proposed Amendment. If you wish to be notified of Council’s decision regarding the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment, you must submit a written request to Ray Kelso at the address shown in the paragraph above.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at the Public Meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury before the proposed Zoning By-law amendment is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal and the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
