The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is seeking members of the community who are interested in getting involved and participating on an advisory committee for the 2022-2026 term of Council.  The committees are a great way to provide your input and experience that will guide recommendations on matters that affect the entire community.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and a current resident or property owner in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.  The following opportunities are available:

Appeals Tribunal

A quasi-judicial tribunal that hears appeals made under the Business Licensing By-law, Dog Control By-law and the Property Standards By-law.

Accessibility Advisory Committee

Provides advice and comments to Council and staff on the Town’s Accessibility Plan, consults on matters required under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and champions accessibility within the community.  Preference will be given to individuals with firsthand experience of accessibility challenges.

Council Compensation Committee

The purpose of this Committee is to undertake a review of current levels of compensation paid to members of council and then present their recommendations to council for consideration for the 2022 to 2026 term and beyond.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusiveness Advisory Committee

This committee will build upon the work of the former Anti-Racism Advisory Committee and broaden its mandate to address inequities across marginalized communities and improve the sense of belonging, representation and security among all residents.

Green Initiatives Advisory Committee

This committee will focus on reviewing and providing advice regarding initiatives that support the environmental health of the Town along with the mental, physical and societal benefits for residents.

Heritage Committee

This committee will promote public participation in heritage matters through public education.  They will also provide advice respecting heritage preservation within the municipality and identify buildings, structures and land that are of historical or cultural significance to the municipality and recommend their designation to Council.
