October 17-23, 2021 is Ontario Public Library Week. During this month, libraries and library partners across Canada raise awareness of the valuable role libraries play in Canadians’ lives.

Share your support by checking out some of our latest collections:

Wi-Fi Hotspot

BWG hotspots are a great way to access faster Internet and stay connected for free.  A Wi-Fi hotspot is a small device that broadcasts a wireless Internet connection. It can run on battery power, making it mobile, and provides unlimited, free Internet access to up to 15 Wi-Fi enabled devices at one time, including smartphones, tablets and laptops.

Any cardholder is able to borrow a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to one week at a time. Just like any book in the collection, our hotspots can be reserved and picked up at the BWG Library during open hours. Search for “wifi hotspot” in the catalogue to find and reserve yours today.

Borrow ebooks and audiobooks with Libby

Did you know that the Library has thousands of ebooks and audiobooks? You can borrow them instantly and for free using the device in your hand, simply by downloading the Libby app. The Libby app allows you to listen to audiobooks in your car, send ebooks to your Kobo, read across devices and read while offline.

Maker Kits

These kits are packed full of fun and new things to discover. Come in and ask or search the catalogue and borrow these robotic kits for free from the BWG Library for a STEM activity. The BWG Library Maker Kits include activities for all age levels and are full of endless fun. Some of our favourites include: GoPros, Dot & Dash, Code-A-Pillar and more!

Reader Pens

Reader Pens are the BWG Library’s newest addition to help you read with ease! Reader Pens are a great tool for anyone learning English, Spanish or French, and are ideal for those who suffer from reading difficulties such as dyslexia.

The Reader Pen is a pocket-sized device that reads text out loud in English, Spanish or French.  Simply pass the nib across a word and it instantly displays the definition on a small screen and reads the word aloud. Come in and ask or search the catalogue and reserve your Reader Pen today!

And so much more!
