Black History Month
Black History Month is a time to learn about the stories and many important contributions of local Black Canadians to the settlement, growth, and development of Simcoe County, and about the diversity of Black communities in Canada and their importance to the history of this country.
BWG held a flag raising for Black History Month on Sunday, February 4 at the Court House Courtyard.

The Federated Women’s Institute of Ontario Day (February 19)
The Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario (FWIO) was organized in 1919, giving Members a stronger voice by working together as a united group. Through education and support programs and services, FWIO's original focus expanded to include personal growth opportunities, and health and community wellness projects.
Ontario Heritage Week (February 19-25)
During the full third week of each February, the Ontario Heritage Trust invites us to celebrate heritage in all its forms. Heritage Week provides a wonderful opportunity for individuals and communities to reflect on their contributions to Ontario, how heritage is conserved, promoted and commemorated, and how they might shape the future.
World Thinking Day (February 22)
World Thinking Day has united Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world for a day of international friendship over the past 90 years, first celebrated in 1926.
This year, members will focus on the positive difference Girl Guides can make in the world as they explore the conditions that girls and young women need to thrive in an environmentally conscious world through the theme of, ‘Our World, Our Thriving Future.’
We Stand with Ukraine: 2nd Year Anniversary (February 22)
This year marks the second anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. We honour and commemorate the lives of Ukraine’s fallen heroes – since the invasion.
