I have served on Innisfil council for more than 23 years, first as councillor and the past four years as deputy mayor.

My two children were born and raised here. I am proud of how far Innisfil has come and I’m excited about our future. You can rely on my continued long-term dedication to the town.

I recently finished a two-year term as president of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario. It was an honour to be chosen to represent 419 municipalities in Ontario and ensure the needs of local governments were recognized by the provincial and federal governments. It also gave me the opportunity to develop crucial relationships with provincial decision makers.

In the past term, we have had many successes, including the launch of our on-demand Innisfil Transit, which has gained international recognition. We opened a walk-in clinic that is temporarily housed in town hall while we finish construction of a state-of-the-art, multi-disciplinary health and wellness centre, and we launched a mobile youth centre which travels around our community to bring fun activities to kids of all ages.

My goals as your mayor include continuing to increase the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our services. Create opportunity for employment and entrepreneurship.

Pay attention to the little things. Measure response times. Fix the systemic issues that residents tell us about, such as drainage, park operations, traffic calming and littering, by using local ideas and perspectives to find solutions. Find new ways to engage the public to ensure we are meeting our community’s expectations and make sure no part of Innisfil feels left behind.
