Linda Zanella is a candidate for town councillor Ward 1 in Innisfil.

She is a mother of four, a realtor and a travel agent.

Linda served as a trustee with the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board for 17 years.

Her commitment to the constituents of Brampton led to her being re-elected for five terms. During her tenure at the board, Linda was vice chair of the board, chair of administration and finance, chair of program and faith, chair of the Special Education Advisory Committee, as well as vice chair of numerous other committees.

She served as a member of the Safety Council for 16 years.

Linda has worked on political campaigns for all levels of government for 30 years.

She was a member of the Heart Lake Citizens' Advisory Committee.

She is a member of the Ontario and Canadian Real Estate Associations and past member of the Political Affairs Committee of the Brampton Real Estate Board.

Innisfil residents are paying the highest hydro rates in Simcoe County. Linda will do whatever possible to lower hydro rates and water rates in Innisfil. We are paying way too much for these services. Property taxes are one of the highest in the GTA and this needs to be addressed.

Linda will work diligently to get necessary work done on our roads in Innisfil. The population of Innisfil has grown drastically and the roads have not kept up with the growth.

The local beaches draw thousands of visitors and we need to have strict enforcement on weekends to handle the crowds and have control of the situations that arise regularly.

Another area of concern is the safety of children in the area. Speeding is an issue in school areas and some streets do not have sidewalks for children to walk to school. Linda will connect with her rural community to make sure their concerns are brought to the table.

Ward 1 candidates: Linda Zanella and Kevin Eisses.
