My name is Christian Pitcher, and I am running for council in Ward 4.

I grew up in Alcona and, in 2010, I returned back to my childhood home to raise my family. After working at Queen’s Park for 15 years, I want to bring my experience to Innisfil and make our lives better.

When I first ran in 2014, my three biggest priorities were improving child safety, improving Innisfil Beach Park for residents, and enhancing our town’s accountability. Sadly, these issues continue today.

We need to address child safety though traffic control: our school zones require more crosswalks and sidewalks so our children can get to school and arrive home safely.

In 2015, I led a rally at Innisfil Beach Park to make our experiences better there. There were some changes such as premium parking, but there is still a lot more work we can do. Adding basketball courts, with parking, and a permanent outdoor skating rink will make this a park for all seasons.

We also need to review how the park operates during peak summer weekends. We have a wonderful tourist attraction that is being mismanaged.

We need to address how town staff and council operate to improve accountability and to stop the kickbacks. Streaming council meetings online and making voting records readily accessible creates a more transparent system.

Contracts like the one with Uber need to undergo a transparent process so that contracts are tendered in a fair and honest manner. We also need to fix InnPower by dissolving the corporation and streamlining their operations.

I encourage you to look at my platform at ChristianPitcher.com.

Come Election Day, I ask you to vote for me because I want your voice to be heard. I want to create real change that will make Innisfil better today and for future generations.
