My name is Matthew Kenney. I am a Mohawk College and Texas A&M University alumni.

I moved to Innisfil 12 years ago to start my family in our lovely tight-knit community and have had the honour of meeting and getting to know many great people, friends and neighbours.

As a parent, have had the pleasure of volunteering with many youth organizations and have been immersed in our local community and the mutual concerns that come with our rapid growth.

As an emergency first responder of 14 years, have dedicated my life to serving the public. I believe in keeping our people safe, especially our children. I would like to advocate on your behalf to address the issues that have arisen due to the closing of parking lots at local schools and the lack of traffic provisions around our school zones.

I believe that we should invest in proper sidewalks and crosswalks to help keep our kids safe. I’ll revisit and revise our scheduled road maintenance and repairs.

As a homeowner, a major concern is the flooding in our ward. Our current council has put measures in place to help mitigate these issues and I’ll continue to advocate for more environmental mediation and more permanent measures.

I’ll ensure that our residents have better access to our park, beaches and parking. I believe in keeping our kids and residents active and would look to bring more fun opportunities for our family-oriented community, such as the installation of a dual purpose area for ice skating and ball hockey.

With the same dedication have brought to the community, I’ll bring to council so that our collective concerns will be appropriately addressed while maintaining the efficient use of our tax dollars.
