A staff member at Bradford Starbucks, 496 Holland Street West has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a spokesperson for the coffee chain.

The employee began experiencing symptoms of the coronavirus, at which point the company quickly activated their COVID-19 protocols.

The employee was sent home and tested for the virus, while the store initiated a deep clean, following all recommended guidelines from public health.

The employee and their close contact coworkers are self-isolating and are being paid for their time off.

"We take seriously our responsibility to keep our partners and customers safe," said the spokesperson.

The store reopened with modified hours on Jan. 1, 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., with employees who did not come into contact with the infected staff member.

Normal business hours will resume on Jan. 8.
