In his media update call on Wednesday afternoon, Dr. Charles Gardner medical officer of health with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) confirmed there was another death reported out of Bradford Valley Care Community since his last address on Monday.

No details of the resident was provided.

To date, there have been a total of 10 COVID-19 related deaths at Bradford Valley Care Community long-term care facility. There have been a total of 42 lab confirmed cases at the home, 35 of them are residents and 11 of them are staff members. Four staff members do not live in the region and are not included in the total count of Bradford cases. Gardner said many of the cases at the home are severely ill, with one individual hospitalized.

The recent death was not included in the daily update on the SMDHU website.

"They should have a total of 10 but one is not yet on our line list," said Gardner.

"We do have ongoing staff support from Southlake Regional hospital in that facility. We've tested all the residents and all the staff on the premises and apart from the individuals identified, the tests have come back negative," said Gardner.

A group home in Bradford that reported one positive case, has had all staff and residents tested with results coming back negative.

In Bradford there are a total of 78 confirmed cases, with 29 recovered, three in hospital, and 10 deaths.
