What happened to Rosemary St. John?

Murder mystery gala at Bradford church ‘really very funny,’ says reverend

Rosemary St. John is a hypochondriac with an abrasive personality, but it’s her birthday, and her four kooky sisters have come out to help her celebrate at a restaurant. During the celebration, she disappears. Was she murdered?

That is the premise of Café Murder, another Gala Murder Mystery Dinner taking place next month at Bradford United Church.

On Oct. 20, guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner and dessert (wine and beer will be available to purchase) before tackling the mystery of who murdered Rosemary St. John. Was it a sister? The self-taught detective? The French chef? The maître d’? The waiter?

The dinner has become something of an annual tradition at Bradford United Church, and this year’s play, by Nathan Hartswick, stands out.

“It’s really very funny,” said Rev. Jim Keenan, who plays the detective, Mr. Harris.

Tickets are $40 for a great dinner and evening of entertainment, and a sale of items.

Call 905-775-7268 to reserve before Oct. 5 — but hurry, tickets are nearly sold out. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. at the church at 66 Barrie St. in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
