Baseball scores: Ryan’s Landscaping comes alive in 36-17 victory

BradfordToday, in partnership with the Bradford Minor Baseball Association, brings you a regular feature highlighting local baseball scores

All games took place between June 17-24.

Junior Rookie Hardball

Remax Chris Davies shut out IMBA Team 1 4-0. Great batting by Jason F. and Cole M.

In weekend action, Remax faced Team Green in a wet early morning nail biter that ended in a 12-10 win for Remax.

Solid line drive from Remax’s Liam with an RBI, Colby L. stepped it up on defence, and Eli S. scooped up a line drive and made the toss to Cole M. at second to end the game.

In a fantastic display of teamwork and effort, Carron Farms managed to pull ahead of IMBA Team 2 with a final score of 9-3.

It was a total team effort, offensively, with special mention going to Ewan L. with a breakout night going three for four at the plate with three RBIs and an unassisted out at second base to end an inning. Anthony S. and Owynn R. each added four hits of their own.

During the weekend opening games, Carron Farms went on to win 8-7 versus Bradford Lions Club.

Senior Rookie Hardball

Ryan’s Landscaping had a huge 36-17 win against IMBA 3.

After falling behind at the start of the game, Ryan’s Landscaping’s bats came alive in the top of the sixth inning with a 28-run inning!

The defence was able to hold the runs with a three up, three down in the bottom of the sixth. It was a full team effort that pulled off a win this game.

Special shout out to Conner for the team’s first home run this season!

The team had a number of doubles this game by Joshua, Charlie, Conner and Anthony! Kudos to Denny, who took a ball off his foot but was still about to count an out at second!

Maria Chiodo RMT beat IMBA Team 1 11-10. Special mention goes out to Landon O. who started the hitting with a double, followed by David M. who drove in some runs with a triple.

Great defensive playing by Bradley F. at third base to hold the runners in the third inning.

It was a full team effort that helped Ryan's Landscaping pull off an 8-4 win against MFC Landscaping.

There were some solid hits and great defensive plays. Special shoutout to Joshua who played pitcher and Ben who played first. Together they made two great outs!

Ryan's Landscaping came together for an 11-3 win in the second game of the day.

The bats were hot and the defence even hotter. Terrific teamwork led to a number of outs: Jordan at pitcher to Riley at second, third baseman Colby charged the ball and threw to shortstop Liam who was covering at third, and, last but not least, Denny knocked down a hot grounder, picked it up and tagged the incoming runner. Great job, team!

Maria Chiodo RMT faced off against MFC Landscaping in their first of two during Saturday’s opening day.

RMT beat MFC 8-7. Great defensive plays by RMT’s Bradley F., Logan O. and Andrew R. The bats came alive and all around great hitting by Michael L., David M. and Evan B.

Later defensive plays were the key to a 13-12 win for RMT verses Bellamy Sports.

Landon O. played a great game at pitcher for two solid outs. Special mention to Evan B., who made some great stops at shortstop, and to Bradley F. who had some great plays to first base. The bats were on fire with great hitting and RBIs by Michael L., Landon O., David M., Adam D., and both Evan B. and Hayden

B. Way to cap off a stormy Saturday with two solid wins — good job, boys!

Mosquito Hardball

Collwest Contracting edged Carron Farms for an 8-7 win. And later in the week took a 15-7 win in a second matchup.

Bantam Hardball

Bradford’s Team 2 may have lost 7-4 against but the team saw some great highlights with Nathan hitting his first triple of the season and a strong personal best on the mound by Jack and Tanner.

Despite strong pitching by Everett, striking out seven Bradford batters, Team Bradford held their own in a 13-9 loss.

Nathan got on base twice, sting base running with a great slide at home plate called safe. Jack and Christian each earned one single each.

Mite Softball

Bradford Home Hardware played two rain-soaked games June 23, squeaking past the Jets 8-7, and losing to Robert W. Ratusny Law 15-5. Great hits from Jessica, Ryley and Nicholas Y.

Earlier in the week, Robert W. Ratusny Barrister & Solicitor beat out E GMSA2 12-11.

The Bradford Jets went 11-6 over EG.

Great pitching from Amelia, Natalie and Erik. Great batting and fielding from all Jets players. Awesome tag for Olivia H. at first base.

Bantam Softball

BMBA 3 pulled out a 16-15 win against Stouffville.

Teghan and Jace both had inside-the-park home runs, Johnny stole six bases, and Sarah hammered the ball for her two base hits.
