Local businesses Hillside Photography, Jen Feeney Events, and Invitique are teaming up to offer Christmas mini photo sessions next month, with half of the proceeds going to charity.

Every year, Hillside Photography owner Cassidy Hilliard likes to organize fundraising photo sessions to help those in the need.

"I hold these fundraising sessions, not only to bring attention to local Bradford non-profit organizations but to help them in some way," said Hilliard.

This year she has selected CrossTrainers Canada as her charity of choice, and their efforts with the Christmas Wishlist program for local families in need.

Hilliard was in touch with Jodi Greenstreet from the Out of the Cold Cafe who let her know about the Christmas Wish List program.

"I fell in love with what they (CrossTrainers) do, not just for children but for single people and seniors," said Hilliard.

Jen Feeney who has worked with Hilliard before for past fundraising events was on board to help with this one right away. She will be donating 100 per cent of her time to help create a surprise Christmas balloon display for the photo sessions, and Daniela Sciortino of Invitique a boutique design studio will be providing the props free of charge.

The Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 521) in Bradford has generously donated one of their halls to host the take the pictures.

Each session is 30 minutes long, with three backdrops.

The cost of this Christmas Experience is $165, with half the proceeds going directly to CrossTrainers Christmas Wishlist program.

Sessions are already 50 per cent sold out.

If all 20 sessions are filled, that will bring in $1,650 for the Christmas Wish List program.

If there are any local businesses looking to take part in the fundraiser, whether it is adding more gifts or cash for the Wishlists, they can contact Hilliard by email at [email protected] or on her business Facebook page here

"Can you imagine if we could give all these local Bradford families the best Christmas they could ever ask for?" said Hilliard. "They need all the donations they can get."

Hilliard will also have a change jar set up for donations at the photo sessions.

"Any little bit helps," she said.
