TORONTO – Saying “yes” to Encore paid off for Iray Lemes of Bradford. She matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the Jan. 16, 2021 Lotto 6/49 draw to win $100,000!
Iray, a 74-year-old grandmother, said she plays regular numbers that are a mix of family members birthdays. “I checked my ticket using the OLG Lottery App – I saw Big Winner but thought I won $100, so I put it aside. I showed my husband the next day and he told me I won $100,000!”
Iray doesn’t have major plans for her windfall. “I’ll pay some bills and start fresh and then see what I want to do,” she said.
Encore offers 22 ways to win and can be played in conjunction with most lottery games for an extra $1. There is an Encore draw every day.
In accordance with government-issued lockdown measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, OLG is currently limiting the number of in-person prize claim appointments at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to only those that require a face-to-face interview. Customers with prizes over $50,000 are asked to call 1-800-387-0098 to discuss available prize claim options.
