NEWS RELEASE
BRADFORD WEST GWILLIMBURY PUBLIC LIBRARY
*************************
The BWG Library is excited to announce that, effective Monday, June 15, the Library will be offering curb side pickup. The Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library (BWG Library) is grateful that community members place a high value on the services offered by the BWG Library and has designed a plan that includes a quarantine period for all material, safety measures for staff and community interactions, as well as contactless, curb side pickup.

The process for Curb Side Pickup will be as follows:

  • Go to the BWG Library website at bradford.library.on.ca and place reservations on the materials you would like to pick up.
  • When the materials are ready, the Library will call you to set up a one-hour pickup window. Please arrive during your window, as we are serving multiple people during each time slot.
  • When you arrive at the Library, park in the designated parking spaces and do not block the flow of traffic. There will be signs indicating where to park.
  • Call the Library to let the librarians know you have arrived. The phone number (905-775-3328 ext. 6100) will be displayed in the parking lot. If the line is busy, please leave a message and remain in the car and we will return your call.
  • A librarian will place your materials on a table just outside the sliding doors at the front of the Library for you to pick up.
  • For the health and safety of staff and borrowers, please remain in your car or behind the yellow line until the librarian has gone back into the building.
  • Upon return, all items will be quarantined for 72 hours and handled with gloves throughout the check out process.
  • Items may be returned in our exterior dropbox when borrowers are finished with them.
  • Staff will wait to check in material for at least 72 hours after they are placed in the dropbox. Material will stay on borrowers' Library account until check in.
  • Due dates are shown on the checkout slip included with each pick up. Please return of your items around the time of those due dates.
  • The BWG Library is not charging fines on overdue items at this time.

“We have designed a comprehensive program that will ensure the safety of BWG Library staff and borrowers to the best of our ability,” shares Matthew Corbett, BWG Library CEO. “The processes that are in place ensure that we will continue to offer the high quality of library services that our community has come to rely on, while doing our best to eliminate the risk of spreading COVID-19.”
