A celebration of community hockey returns to Bradford West Gwillimbury tomorrow.
The 14th annual Hockey Day in BWG will take place in Bond Head at Bud Brown Park. The event will kick off at 8:30 a.m., with the Minor Hockey Association (U7 and U8 teams) Outdoor Tournament.
This year's Hockey Day features an extended event that continues into the afternoon at Lions Park from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Community members can participate in a 3 on 3 Hockey Tournament (pre-registration required). There will be two divisions available: Youth Division for ages 12 to 17 years and an Adult Division, ages 18+.
The event will include outdoor fire pits and hot chocolate (sold by Bradford Lions) to keep spectators warm as well as hockey themed games and crafts indoors.
The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury launched the local event in 2009 in celebration of this community favourite winter sport and bringing the game back to basics with a fun and friendly tournament.
