Local churches prepare to celebrate Christmas...

Looking for church services this Christmas? Here are some of the services offered by local churches, in Bradford, Bond Head and Innisfil.

Trinity Anglican Church’s Lessons and Carols Service, 10 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22. Carols and Christmas readings by members of the community. Trinity Anglican is located at 62 Church St. in Bradford. On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, Trinity Anglican will be holding a Christmas Eve Family Service at 4:30 p.m. and a Candlelight Service at 11 p.m. On Christmas Day, Dec. 25, there will be Holy Eucharist and Carols at 10 a.m. – and on Sunday, Dec. 29, instead of a service there will be extra carols and carol stories for all ages.

Christmas Potluck Continental Brunch at Bradford Baptist Church, 3224 Sideroad 10 in BWG, on Dec. 22 and Dec. 29 at 10 a.m. Bring a fruit platter, muffins or favourite Christmas Baking; coffee, tea and juice provided. Bradford Baptist Church hosts a Family Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Dec. 24 at 6 p.m., with Christmas carols, special music, and a special message.

St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, in memory of the legend that the animals spoke on Christmas Eve, will be holding a special Blessing of the Animals at the Church on Dec. 22, at 4 p.m. – following Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Dec. 24 – Liturgy of St. Basil for the Vigil of the Nativity at 9 p.m. Dec. 25 – Christmas, with Divine Liturgy and Carols at 10 am. Dec. 26 – The Synaxis of the All-Holy Theotokos – Divine Liturgy and Carols at 10 a.m. Dec. 27 – St. Stephen Divine Liturgy and Carols at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 29 (Sunday of the Forefathers) – Divine Liturgy in Ukrainian at 9:30 a.m., Divine Liturgy at 11:30 a.m. St. Catherine’s is located at 56 Hearn St. in Bond Head.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church hosts Divine Service with a children’s message at 10 a.m. on Dec. 22, a Christmas Eve Carol and Candlelight Service at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24, and Divine Service at 10 a.m. on Christmas Day, Dec. 25. The church is located at 53 Miller Park Ave. in Bradford.

Green Valley Alliance Church, 758 Simcoe Rd. in Bradford, holds a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, from 7 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 24. All welcome.

Bradford United Church, 66 Barrie St. in Bradford, welcomes the community to a Christmas Eve Service, Dec. 24 from 7 to 8 p.m. – lighting the white candle of Advent.

Bond Head United Church, located on County Rd. 88 in Bond Head, hosts two Christmas Eve services on Dec. 24 – a Family Service with Christmas Carols from 5 to 6 p.m., and a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, from 7 to 8 p.m. All welcome.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Carol Sing at Innisfil Community Church, Dec. 24 from 8 to 9 p.m. Includes a Children’s Nativity and carolling, in a family-friendly evening. Innisfil Community Church is located at 1571 Innisfil Beach Rd., in Alcona.

Holy Martyrs of Japan Catholic Church is holding Christmas Eve Mass at 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and midnight on Dec. 24; Christmas Day mass at 10 and 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 25, Boxing Day Mass at 9 a.m. on Dec. 26. On New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, Holy Martyrs hosts the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God Vigil - 5 p.m. Dec. 31; 10 and 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 1.

St. John’s Presbyterian Church, 2940 Sideroad 10, celebrates the Fourth Sunday in Advent on Dec. 22 at 11 a.m., with special preacher Rev. Dr. Stanley Walker. On Dec. 24, the Christmas Eve Service takes place at 7 p.. with special preacher Rev. Kent Nielsen; and on Dec. 29, the First Sunday After Christmas features special preacher Rev. Dr. Stanley Walker.

St. Peter's Anglican Church, 6254 Yonge St. in Churchill, Innisfil, offers a Lessons and Carols service, that tells the story of the Nativity, Dec. 22 at 9:15 a.m. On Christmas Eve, St. Peter's holds a Family Service, focusing on the children, at 4 p.m., and a Traditional Christmas Eve Service at 9 p.m.

Greater Life Community Church, BWG Library 425 Holland St. West in the Zima Room, Dec.22 at 10:30 a.m. Celebrating the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus, the greatest gift of all. Children's Ministry presentation and a special message from Pastor Eaton H. Grant.
