BradfordToday received the following letter to the editor from Bradford resident Lawrence Hammond about the intersection at the Smart Centre plaza.

Try exiting the Bradford Walmart plaza. Go ahead. Try it.
There are only two exits from the plaza and only one which easily leads back into town. Now notice how long it takes for the stoplights to change at that one intersection, and how long cars have to leave before the light turns red again. Also, look at how much room is allocated at that stop light for cars to line up. It's not much.
The end result is a mess trying to get out of the plaza, often causing gridlock in the parking lot. I've even seen pickup trucks go off-roading through the field on the east side to get to the Swiss Chalet area. It's absurd.
Get a civil engineer to look at it and critique it.
There needs to be another exit. Probably best to just pave the trail the off-roaders made on the east side.
There needs to be an assessment and resetting of the timing of the stoplight at the south end of the plaza.
