Bryan Seaton, of Thornhill, won $100,000 in the Feb. 21 Lotto 6/49 draw.

Playing the lottery for 10 years has finally paid off for retiree Bryan Seaton of Thornhill with a $100,000 jackpot.

“I’ve been playing for 10 years. I went to check my numbers at the store and found out I won big. I was full of excitement,” the 76-year-old said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his winnings.

He matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in the exact order in the Feb. 21, 2024 Lotto 6/49 draw to win $100,000.

Seaton said it's his first big win and he usually plays Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49 and Lightning Lotto a couple of times a week.

He shared the news with his close family and said everyone was happy for him.

“It was a big surprise that I did not expect,” he said. “I wouldn’t be able to describe it to anyone.”

Bryan has no big plans for his windfall yet and said he has to give it some thought.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart on Royal Orchard Boulevard in Thornhill.
