ALLISTON - For the second consecutive year, Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM) associates donated more than 300 new and gently used coats to support people in our community.

HCM’s annual ‘Share the Warmth’ campaign will help several community partners including: Inn from the Cold, David Busby Street Centre and Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions.

“Working with our community partners and supporting them in their work is important to us. We are fortunate to have amazing partners who will distribute the donated coats to people in our community,” said Tom Lake, Executive Vice President, Honda of Canada Mfg. “When we consider how many people this donation will touch in the months ahead it is humbling and reinforces our desire to give back.”

Cintas, HCM’s uniform supplier, joined in Share the Warmth by providing complimentary cleaning for all donated coats.

“For families experiencing poverty in our community, finding and affording essential winter wear is very challenging,” said Melanie McLearon, Director of Communications & Community Relations for Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions.

“Being dressed appropriately for our cold and snowy winters is a matter of safety and health. We are so fortunate to have a partner like HCM that understands that families shouldn’t have to choose between buying groceries or having snowsuits for their children. HCM associates are such a caring group and we can’t thank them enough for their support.”

“It means a lot to our clients to know that Honda is thinking about them and making an effort to make sure they stay warm and dry,” said Ann Watson, Executive Director, Simcoe Muskoka Family Connextions. “You deserve to be recognized for your efforts in making people who don’t have very much to feel that they are important and that you care about their well-being. Thank you.”
