The county passed its 2019 budget at its council meeting on Tuesday morning, and that means a two per cent tax increase in 2019 for county.

The 2019 County of Simcoe draft budget was presented to county council on Jan. 8, outlining how the county intends to spend its $550 million budget in 2019. The budget was officially passed with little discussion on Tuesday morning.

The proposed tax increase for taxpayers across the county is two per cent, which works out to an increase of $5.70 per $100,000 of MPAC assessment.
