New hair salon opens in Bond Head

Studio on 88 held its official grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony this weekend, surrounded by family, friends and members from BWG Council and Bradford Board of Trade.

Irene Andrianopoulos has lived in Bond Head with her husband Angelo for the past seven years.

She is a hairstylist of 38 years, with her own salon in Mississauga. After battling the long commute everyday, she thought it would be a nice to open up another salon in the community she lives in.

Mayor Rob Keffer congratulated Andrianopoulos on her new business and presented her with a certificate on behalf of BWG council.

"May you experience great success now and for years to come," he said.

He made note of the studio's prime location in the heart of the hamlet at Highway 27 and County Road 88.

The historic building on the north east corner, goes back many years and was previously a cupcake store, a butcher shop, and even a  saddle store in the 1800s.

"It'll be nice," she said about her new short commute to work.

For now, she will keep her Mississauga location but focus on building the business in Bond Head for the next little while.

Andrianopoulos has always had a passion for doing hair, allowing her to meet many friends along the way and "making people happy."

"Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, I hope I can do Bond Head proud," she said.

"The Hairapist is in!"
