Dr. Arif Virani was working in a dental clinic in Brampton, when he began scouting out possible locations for a new dental office.
“I wanted my own space,” he explained.
Virani was directed to Bradford – where he saw the Zehr’s plaza, and learned of plans to build additional retail and office space, fronting on Holland Street West (County Rd. 88).

Two years ago, while the building was still under construction, Dr. Virani joined a Bradford softball team, and began sponsoring minor sports teams – determined to become involved in the community before he opened his dental office.
The building was completed back in March of this year, but it took another six months to customize the clinic.
“We put in a lot of effort,” said Dr. Virani. “What I really wanted to do was create a space that was welcoming for families and kids. I wanted to make sure it was a space that feels like home.”
Dentistry on 88 opened its doors in mid-September, and on Nov. 2, held an official Grand Opening and ribbon cutting – when clients, friends and family members could drop by to see just how well Dr. Virani had succeeded in his goals.
The bright, modern dental office includes state-of-the-art dentists' offices and equipment, a kid’s play area in the waiting room, and child-friendly dispensers of toothbrushes, floss, toothpaste, and toys.
“Right now, I’m the only dentist,” Dr. Virani said. His team includes a dental hygienist, assistant, and office administrator, but there is plenty of room to grow and add additional dentists, as the practice becomes busier and more established.
Among those tendering their congratulations at the Grand Opening were BWG Mayor Rob Keffer and members of council, representatives of the Bradford Board of Trade, and York-Simcoe MP Scot Davidson.
“I just want to congratulate Dr. Virani,” said Davidson. “Everyone understands that small business really drives the Canadian economy.”
Ward Coun. Raj Sandhu noted that the Grand Opening was the second in the plaza this week, and thanked Dr. Virani for investing in the community. “It brings jobs, and it brings opportunity,” Sandhu said.
Dr.Virani, joined by family and staff in cutting the ribbon, thanked everyone for their support, with a special “thank-you to Bradford, for welcoming me to the community!”
