The Bradford Bulldogs U8 MD team participated in The Humber Valley Shark Attack Jamboree in Etobicoke February 25-27, finishing the tournament with an impressive 5-0 record and recording three shut-out games.

The coaching staff were extremely proud of the team, who were taking part in their first half-ice Jamboree of the season. Earlier scheduled events were cancelled due to COVID shutdowns.

“With another shortened hockey season, it was exciting to see the U8 MD team excel in their first Jamboree experience.  As we look to further develop the skills of our young players, it is important to have the kids play against better competition and in different settings to help accelerate their development," said Head Coach Robert Tee.

The action-packed games had all spectators on the edge of their seats. The fast pace of the half-ice format allows each player to skate with the puck, pass and shoot more often, resulting in many thrills for the fans.  The athletes played hard and worked together as a true team and had amazing support in the stands from their friends and families, whose cheering could be heard throughout the arena.

Congratulations to all team members including Gabriel Bonura, Josiah Carr, Matthew Crowder, Antonny Cucos, Anthony Ferragine, Xavier Ferreira, Larson Froats, Dante Guerrero, Andrew Harwood, Paul Holubev, Anatase Karistinos, Luca MacLean, Jeremy MacNeil, Kayden Murray, Jackson Prokopchuk, Jake Stortz, Josh Stortz, Abel Tee and Wyatt Turner.  And a big thank you to the volunteer coaches Robert Tee, Len Tee, Paul Ferreira, Jonathan Carr, and Trainers Dima Holubev and Andy Karistinos who spend many hours at the rink with these young athletes.

The team plays their next home game against Georgina Blaze on Monday, March 21 at 6 p.m. at Bob Fallis Arena in Bradford.

The Bradford West Gwillimbury Minor Hockey Association is very proud of our heritage as a hockey club and the memories we have helped make for the many players and families we have registered.
