Both Bradford Junior A hockey teams have won their Best of Three first round series, in the Greater Metro Hockey League (GMHL) North Division playoffs for the Russell Cup.

The Bradford Bulls travelled to Bancroft for game 2 on Saturday, defeating the Rockhounds 2-0, to win their First Round series in two games. Goalie Travis Smith was once again a rock wall in net.

The Bradford Rattlers, making the trip to Sturgeon Falls, downed the West Nipissing Lynx, 7-5 - also winning their series, 2 games to 0.

Both teams advance to the Semifinals – and will play each other this coming week, in a Best of Five series.

Game 1 will take place on Tuesday, March 15 at the BWG Leisure Centre, 7 p.m. puck drop. Game 2 takes place at the Bob Fallis Sports Complex on Wednesday, at 8 p.m. The remainder of the games will be played at the BWG Leisure Centre, 7 p.m. on Saturday, 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, and 2:30 p.m. on Monday, if necessary.

The Rattlers placed 2nd in North Division regular season play; the Bulls were 3rd in the standings. Due to Covid, and a shortened season, there will be two GMHL Championship Series - one for the West Division title, and one for the North-South Division championship.
