Toronto Police Service says suspect arrested after shots fired at officers

TORONTO — The Toronto Police Service says they have made an arrest after a suspect inside a home shot at officers.

Police said on Twitter late Tuesday that there was no further threat to public safety.

Earlier Tuesday, police said there were many officers on the scene in the Kennedy Road, Eglinton Ave. East area of Scarborough.

At one point residents of Shenley Road were asked to shelter in their basements.

Other people were urged to stay away from the area.

There was no word of any injuries or charges and no other details were released.
