Bradford man arrested after hit and run in Toronto

A Bradford man is facing charges after an alleged hit and run in Toronto that left a man with life-threatening injuries.

Just after 11 p.m. on May 4, emergency services responded to the report of a collision involving a motor vehicle and a man on an electric scooter in the area of Keele Street and Toro Road, Toronto Police Service stated in a news release.

The 41-year-old scooter operator had been struck from behind and was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On May 5, police arrested Anujan Suthaharan, 21, of Bradford, and charged him with dangerous operation causing bodily harm and leaving an accident scene causing bodily harm.

He was set to appear in court in Toronto on Friday.

Police are still looking for the motor vehicle involved in the collision and say it is an older-model Honda Civic, black in colour, with damage to the front bumper, hood and/or windshield.
