Four drivers face impaired charges in unrelated incidents

All had their licences suspended and vehicles impounded

The South Simcoe Police Service laid the following impaired driving charges from Sept. 28, 2021 to Oct. 2, 2021:

On Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021 at approximately 9:20 p.m., police were called regarding a vehicle driving erratically in Innisfil. Officers located the vehicle in the 20th Sideroad and Belle Aire Beach Road area and arrested the driver. As a result of the investigation, 51-year-old Joao Custodio of Innisfil was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol, and dangerous operation.

On Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, police were called about a possible impaired driver. A vehicle stop was conducted in the area of 9th Line and Yonge Street in Innisfil and the driver was arrested. As a result of the investigation, 44-year-old Lucas Purkis of Innisfil was charged with operation while impaired, dangerous operation, and failure or refusal to comply with breath demand.

On Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021 at approximately 8:44 a.m., police responded to a report of a possible impaired driver. The vehicle was located in the area of Barrie Street and Queen Street in Bradford and the driver was arrested. As a result of the investigation, 48-year-old Holger Nadler of Bradford was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol, and driving while under suspension.

On Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021 at approximately 9 p.m., police were called an address on Bridge Street in Bradford regarding a possible impaired driver. Police arrived and the driver was arrested. As a result of the investigation, 47-year-old Alicia Gresser of Bradford was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol.

A charge of impaired driving results in an immediate 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day impoundment of your vehicle. The South Simcoe Police Service remains committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives. Impaired driving is a crime in progress and we are grateful to our citizens for their pro-active, collaborative approach to keeping our communities safe by calling 911 to report suspected impaired drivers.
