Good samaritan offers help to Innisfil assault victim

A good samaritan came to the aid of a woman who was fleeing a domestic assault in Innisfil.

During the evening of Friday, March 11, 2022, a woman reported she was physically assaulted by her boyfriend who refused to allow her to leave the house.
She eventually managed to flee on foot with the accused following in his vehicle. The victim flagged down a citizen who drove the victim to the South Simcoe Police Station on Innisfil Beach Road in Innisfil. She was treated by paramedics for non life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Innisfil man was charged with assault, forcible confinement and assault with a weapon.

The South Simcoe Police Service would like to thank this Good Samaritan for assisting the victim and bringing her to safety. We are fortunate to serve where citizens work with us to help keep our communities safe.
