Horse barn on 15th Sideroad destroyed by fire

Police say there were no injuries, but there is a heavy police presence in the area and motorists should expect delays

An early-morning fire destroyed a horse barn on the 15th Sideroad between the 5th and 6th Lines Friday morning.

A neighbour said the fire started at around 8 a.m.

"My dog was whining at the door of our bedroom," said the man. "My wife jumped out of bed and said that the (neighbour's) barn is on fire. It was fully engulfed. That was around 8 a.m."

The neighbour said the owner boards and trains horses.

"Sometimes there are no horses there and sometimes the place is full. There were none in the pasture that I could see," he said.

The Nottawasaga OPP said there were no injuries as a result of the blaze.

However, there is a heavy police presence in the area and motorists should avoid the area.
