An Innisfil man faces multiple charges after officers found his vehicle on its side and in a ditch Wednesday night.

South Simcoe police responded to a report of an alleged impaired driver in the area of Webster Boulevard and Innisfil Beach Road Jan. 31 at about 10:50 p.m. An investigation led them about three kilometres away to the 7th Line and St. Johns Road intersection.

They located the suspected vehicle nearby, laying in a ditch. The driver was transported to hospital as a precaution. Two passengers were uninjured, police said in a media release.

The driver, a 30-year-old Innisfil man, was charged with Operation While Impaired, Dangerous Operation, Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand and Assault a Peace Officer.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven.
