Innisfil man nabbed for impaired, stunt driving

In second incident, in which vehicle struck a pole, a Toronto driver was charged with impaired and had his vehicle impounded for seven days

Impaired Driving/Stunt Driving/Speeding

On Sunday, April 10, 2022 at approximately 1:40 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer conducting traffic patrol and enforcement in the area of Dissette Street and Holland Street East in Bradford observed a northbound vehicle driving erratically at a high rate of speed. A speed measurement of 93 km/h in the posted 50 zone was obtained. The officer conducted a traffic stop.

As a result of the investigation, 53-year-old Francisco Garcia Do Rego Sousa of Innisfil was charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired - Excess Blood Alcohol, Stunt Driving and Speeding. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Impaired Driving

On Sunday, April 10, 2022, around 4:30 a.m., the South Simcoe Police Service was dispatched to the intersection of Sideroad 10 and Innisfil Beach Road in Innisfil for a report of a collision where a vehicle had struck a traffic light pole. There were no injuries.

As a result of the investigation, 25-year-old Cairo Romero of Toronto was charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired - Excess Blood Alcohol. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
