Investigation ongoing after Bradford homeowners return to break-and-enter in progress

The suspect fled the scene and nobody was injured

The South Simcoe Police Service is appealing for the public's help in a break and enter investigation in Bradford.

On Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022, at approximately 2:30 p.m., police were called to a home in the Aishford Road and Metcalfe Drive area for a report of a break and enter. The homeowner had arrived at the residence to find a male suspect in the home. The suspect fled the scene. There were no injuries.

Investigators are appealing to witnesses and anyone with security or dash cam video that can assist police in this investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Daniel Carrique at 905-775-3311, 705-436-2141, extension #1057, by email or contact Crime Stoppers.

The South Simcoe Police Service is providing the following safety tips:

  • Install secure locks on all doors and windows
  • Lock your garage and main door at all times
  • Consider installing a security system
  • Keep a record of serial numbers and descriptions of your household possessions
  • Doors should have sturdy frames with hinges that cannot be removed
  • Call police immediately if you see suspicious activity or vehicles in your neighbourhood
