Man charged, second suspect sought in hate-motivated crime in Bradford

Man, 48, turned himself in to police, who are looking for second suspect in incident from last November

The South Simcoe Police Service has charged a man following an investigation into hate-motivated vandalism in Bradford.

Randy Winsor, 48, of Markham, turned himself in at South Division today and was charged with three counts of mischief under $5,000 and trespass/prowl near dwelling house. He was released with a future court date.

The investigation began on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021, when police were called to an address in the area of Walker Avenue and Morris Road in Bradford for a report of damage to two vehicles and a front door. Once on scene, officers learned that two vehicles in the driveway and the front door had been spray-painted with homophobic graffiti. The windows and tires of the vehicles were also damaged. There were no physical injuries.

The investigation is ongoing. Police are still trying to identify a second suspect (pictured).
