Police respond to crash, vehicle involved was reported stolen

The driver is also facing public intoxication and mischief charges

On Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, at approximately 07:50 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were dispatched to the 11th Line and 20th Sideroad in Bradford regarding a possible impaired driver and a vehicle in the ditch. The caller reported that a man was seen near the vehicle and then observed walking into the bushes. Due to the cold weather and terrain, the K9 Unit was called to conduct a track. As the K9 Unit was tracking, a man was arrested nearby and charged with public intoxication.  As a result of the investigation and evidence located by the K9 Unit, it was determined the vehicle involved in the collision was stolen and further charges were laid.  

29-year-old Tyler Green of Bradford was charged with theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, public intoxication, operation while prohibited by order under the Criminal Code and mischief under $5,000. He was released with a future court date.
