Two charged with impaired driving in Innisfil

The South Simcoe Police Service recently charged two people with impaired driving.

On Monday, April 4, at approximately 3:45 p.m., police were dispatched to a driving complaint in the area of Leslie Drive and Jans Boulevard in Innisfil. Police located the vehicle in question and the driver was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, 39-year-old Domenico Valentini of Innisfil was charged with operation while impaired by drug, dangerous operation and failure or refusal to comply with demand. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

On Sunday, March 27, at approximately 7 a.m., police were called to the intersection of King Street North and Church Street in Innisfil for a vehicle that crashed into a building on the northwest corner. There were no injuries.

As a result of the investigation, 40-year-old Guideon Augustin of Waubaushene was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired (excess blood alcohol) and dangerous operation. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Crashes involving alcohol and/or drugs are a leading criminal cause of death in Canada. Always drive sober and be part of the motorists who support, not jeopardize, road safety. There's no excuse.
