10 Things to Know About This Year’s Carrot Fest

  1. Vendors: The vendor market includes over 100 unique vendor booths. The vendor market runs Friday, August 18 from 4:00-10:00 pm and Saturday, August 19 from 10:00am-6:00pm. 
  1. Live music: With two stages located on Simcoe Road and in the Courtyard Courthouse parking lot, Friday evening and all day Saturday is filled with music including live bands, children’s musicians and more.
  1. Food Truck: Make sure to check out the Food Truck Alley on Barrie to browse delicious cuisine from 12 different food trucks. Grab a bite to eat and sit back and relax at a picnic table located at both event stages.
  1. Buskers: The busker pitch is located on Holland Street West, just west of Moore Street. Check out amazing busking performances from Rockabilly Joe and Mike Wood on Friday evening. Return on Saturday for a variety of performances including aerial shows, hoola hoop acts, magic shows and more.
  1. Pet Zone: Now your furry best friend gets to enjoy Carrot Fest just as much as you do! Check out the brand-new Global Pet Foods Zone with 10 amazing pet-themed booths. Visit the Global Pet Foods booth and grab a fantastic pet-themed giveaway bag while supplies last.
  1. At the Community Centre: Make sure to visit the Bradford & District Memorial Community Centre (125 Simcoe Road) on Saturday, August 19 to enjoy impressive performances from Aqua Dogs and exciting wrestling matches. Aqua Dogs: 10:00am-5:00pm. PWA Wrestling: Quest for the Cup 15 (Free Show) - 12:00 pm and PWA Wrestling: Quest for the Cup 15 (Ticketed Show) - 7:00pm.
  1. Back Alley Cruisers Car Show: Are you a fan of classic cars? Then you won’t want to miss the high-octane attractions at this year's Carrot Fest like the Back Alley Cruisers Classic Car Show. Stop by Holland Street East to see some of the coolest classic cars around on Friday, August 18, from 6:00-10:00pm.
  1. Free carrots: What’s Carrot Fest without free carrots? Head to the bottom of Holland Street East for a bag of delicious, Bradford-grown carrots that were graciously provided by the Holland Marsh Grower’s Association. Carrots will be free for everyone while supplies last on Saturday, August 19.
  1. Kids Zone: Bring your friends and family down to the Kids Zone on Barrie Street to enjoy inflatable courses, slides, super-sized games, and carrot-themed crafts. Don’t miss out on free cupcake decorating with Sweet B’s on Friday and enter an ice cream eating contest with 3 Scoops on Saturday, while supplies last.
  1. Info Booth: Have questions about Carrot Fest? Visit the Carrot Fest info booth located at the “4 Corners”. We will have Carrot Fest maps, schedules, merchandise and giveaways available as well as a first aid station and water cart/refill station. Bring your own bottle or purchase a BWG water bottle (cash only). Don’t forget that shaded areas at Carrot Fest are limited, so make sure you are staying sun-safe by drinking lots of water, taking breaks, or cooling off at our misting tent by the Courthouse.
